COVID-19 Information

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) AND YOUR DRINKING WATER SYSTEM

DRINKING WATER SAFETY

Water quality and supplies are not affected by COVID-19 and remain safe.  The final process of water treatment includes disinfection, which inactivates viruses, including the coronavirus.  Water is tested throughout the District’s system on a daily basis to ensure it maintains a consistent disinfectant residual level. Our water meets all stringent state and federal drinking water requirements.

WHAT WE’RE DOING

District business and operations are being performed as usual.  You will continue to see Vista Irrigation District employees working in the field as we maintain and operate our essential systems to provide water service to you.

On September 23, 2021, the Governor signed SB 155, a bill that extended the prohibition of water service shutoffs until December 31, 2021. The District has resumed service disconnections along with associated fees for accounts more than 60 days past due. If you are unable to pay your bill, please contact us during normal business hours at (760) 597-3120 to discuss payment arrangements.

You may continue to pay your bill in-person or via our drop boxes (in the parking lot or near the entrance to our lobby). You may also view all payment options available online by visiting www.vidwater.org/pay-my-bill.  Phone payments can be made by calling (800) 272-9829 (jurisdiction code is 1564).

Vista Irrigation District continues to monitor and follow local, state and federal advisories. We care deeply about the health of our customers and advise you to follow all recommendations from the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, California Department of Public Health, and US Center for Disease Control.

If you have any questions, please call (760) 597-3100 during our business hours Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.  You may also email Customer Service at VIDCustomerService@vidwater.org with questions about payment options.

Vista Irrigation District appreciates your understanding as we all work through the unprecedented challenges posed by COVID-19.
